How They Made Feedback Work
Background:
At Bohunt Horsham, a secondary school in Sussex with 1,100 students and 120 staff, the mission is clear: cultivate “game-changers” – students who question the world around them, communicate effectively, and drive meaningful change. As part of the high-performing Bohunt Education Trust, the school embodies the Trust’s ethos:
Enjoy – Respect – Achieve
However, while the vision was strong, the school faced a significant challenge: transforming day-to-day feedback into real, measurable growth.

The Bohunt Trust ethos – Enjoy, Respect, Achieve – displayed prominently in the corridors of Bohunt Horsham.
The Challenge: Feedback Without Strategy
Bohunt Horsham had established a robust culture of feedback. Yet, tracking and utilising this feedback effectively proved difficult.
“We had incredible data from our Curriculum Leaders,” says Liam Harris, Assistant Headteacher. “But we couldn’t track it properly. That meant we couldn’t make strategic decisions about CPD.”
Feedback was dispersed across Google Forms and private drives, making it challenging for staff to identify trends over time. Some teachers received feedback regularly, while others went months without any. Without a centralised system, measuring long-term progress was nearly impossible.
The Turning Point: Introducing ProgressTeaching
To bring clarity, consistency, and impact to their feedback processes, Bohunt Horsham adopted ProgressTeaching, a platform designed to streamline lesson feedback and appraisals.
“An absolute gamechanger for improving teaching and learning,” says Liam. “I can’t imagine improving education for our students without it.”
The implementation was smooth, with the ProgressTeaching team ensuring the system was tailored to the school’s bespoke frameworks.
“The support has been incredible,” Liam adds. “Whenever we hit a snag, the team responded instantly. But honestly, the system just works.”
From Feedback to Growth
With ProgressTeaching in place, Bohunt Horsham now leverages real-time data to shape its CPD programme. Every Wednesday afternoon is dedicated to professional development, and for the first time, the school can track impact over time.
“The data allows me to plan CPD that actually meets our staff’s needs,” says Liam. “More importantly, we can measure its impact. It’s embedded into how we grow as a school.”

Bohunt Horsham, a school committed to growing great teaching through meaningful feedback.
The Result: A School Where Feedback Drives Progress
ProgressTeaching has transformed feedback from a fragmented process into a powerful tool for school-wide improvement. Staff now receive consistent, structured feedback, and leaders have the insights they need to drive meaningful change.
Bohunt Horsham is no longer just collecting feedback – it’s using it to shape the future of teaching and learning.
